THE HAUNTED LEXICON
∴ A Glossary of Ghost Magicks

Fellow Haunts, let us review the anarchic lexicon that riddles The Haunt Manual thus far:

  • Hauntomancy is my praxis that mixes audiomancy (sound or musick sorcery) and other magickal means to hauntologically e/invoke the ghosts of past-selves (referred to as self-spectres) to commune with memory and e/invoke prior phases of life (see: Spectre Working), lost aspects of self, forgotten projects and synapses of creativity (see: Aspectre Working) and ultimately, to commune with a supra-self, or a self outside of time (see: Prospectre Working). Hauntomancy is primarily documented within the “living multi-media grimoire” HauntManual.com
  • These Hauntomancy workings are usually done in audiomancy (sound & song magick) rituals I have long termed “Dim Sessions”—a long practiced audiomancy ritual to “Dim The Tzim-Tzum,” or diminish the contraction of the preternatural (Kabbalistic Tzim-Tzum), the contraction that creates our perceivable reality.
  • These Dim Sessions (or Dims) are performed with carefully chosen talismans and instrumentation called “Sceptres” (Spectre Sceptres) specific to their invocation intention. These are my vajra, or dharmic tools and charged instruments of application. These Dims are performed in my musickal and magickal space called “The Dimming Room.”
  • The first working, The Spectre Working, (Sine Wave Serpents) called on the self of 2017 – a magickal year of birth that fortified my many current passions using instruments (Sceptres) from 2017 to call-forth my 2017 self. This working was extremely powerful as it had, through various post-hoc machinations, physically thrust me back to the specific place (down to the house) and my specific job of my life circa 2017 (after leaving the place years and years prior!) Though the Spectre Working acted as Tower Card, it allowed me to build from the ash of 2017, make amends, say goodbyes and imagine a new trajectory. The improvised ritual itself was live-streamed and also released as an audiomancy album under my Dakota Slim moniker titled “The Spectre of 223”.
  • The Aspectre Working (Disolver Eco Resonar) is a Dim Session that built upon the schema of The Spectre Working, but chose to commune with an aspect of my self-spectre I have long sought to get back, instead of a temporal one (as with The Spectre Working). This aspect, in particular, was the aspect of a creative abandon, free from judgement and self- expectation, I heavily charged in my youth. The result was a brilliant artistic vexation and sonic departure, one that married the experimentation and freedom of my circuit-bent and analog electronic musings my youth was rife with. The improvised ritual itself was live-streamed and also released as an audiomancy album under a new moniker, Ectogasm, titled “Aspectre: Audiomancy From The Unrealized Film”
  • The Prospectre Working (Salvo Siempre Salvo) was the third, Hauntomantic self-spectre Dim Session that posited that the thirdscene of Hauntomancy would be that of a self outside-of-time; a prospect of sorts. It utilized the charged totemic instruments (Sceptres) of the Specktre Working, the oeuvre of creative abandon of the Aspectre, and combined the past two spectres-of-self and their workings with never-before-attempted schemas and talismans. This Prospectre working utilized the audiomancy methods with direct communication to the Other via a ghostbox and the decoding of the messages utilizing the ALW Cipher. This working posits that the Other, in this case, is the prospectre, or spectre-of-self outside of time, and that through the Hauntomantic schema, one could divine communication with a supra-self. The improvised ritual itself was live-streamed and a 7 minute excerpt was released on limited edition vinyl included with the premiere issue of Scavenged Rituals.

2023’s Hauntomancy Workings and their correlating October Taos Eclipse D.E.R. TAROT cards that frame these Haunt Manual writings.

PART I. DISOLVER (What to dissolve, make opaque, see past): The Spectre Working & Temperance
PART II. ECO (What to punch forth, repeat): The Aspectre Working & The Hanged Man

And now, PART III…RESOLVER (What resounds and haunts on): The Prospectre of Death & Change!

Haunt on, O’ Prospectre of twenty-twenty four; Haunt on, young haunt, and crown the aeon of neither either/or!

III. THE HALLOWED
Resonar ∴ The Prospectre Haunts On

∴ The Prospectre of twenty-twenty four and the aeon of neither, either or.

Since beginning the Haunt Manual grimoire’s gusts of multi-media monthly posts in late 2022, I have underwent seismic changes in not only how I commune with my artistick and magickal processes, but how I commune with myself.

In my search for the inherent I have resolved on all aspeckts of creativity.

In my search for the absolute I have resolved on all aspeckts of change.

So it is only fitting that the third card, the RESOLVER card, of my October Eclipse Tarot Forecast would be the infamous Death card. The symbol of the absolute. The symbol of change.

The Death of the Common & The Communion of Chaos

The Eclipse’s Resonar card answered the Hanged Man’s Eco’d introspection and suspension relating to my predicaments of my Malkuthian saunters: stable within my continuous echoes of back-and-forths, swinging upside down under the beating pressures of adulthood. It worried me, at the time, that I might be prepping another Tower Blowing (as I am wont), when I know the answer has always been a communion with these Malkuthian Archons, and a give-and-take rather than supreme escape. But my intention was never to Tower Card the coming gusts, but to weather them with grace and preparedness.

This recent eclipse ouroboros’d a new digestive tract within the infinite loop of the world serpent, Jörmungandr.  Its intention to not Tower Card everything as I had under 2017’s eclipse, but to control burn the outgrowths and parasites while holding on to the gardens tended since. And the Resonar card of Death answered my quandaries within the same intentions, as did the Moon Revel tour’s resonance and the Portland visit: I work best within a divergent daily routine, within the dynamism of travel and projects, and not within the repetitive marches of the usual. Of course, as with the Aspectre working, I must ordain the aspects, rather than the timeframes, and keep divergent within the daily: well oiled calendar servos, but wholly ritualized within the habits and practices performed and a lot of blank space for Choronzon licking!

Of course the resonance of the Prospectre Working and this rebirth of Revel Rosz would commune with my need to be inspired within my financial work, and of course it should be done with the ability of a divergent calendar. I knew my answer back then, and I know it now, and  2024 has already sewn the invo/evocation of my anarchic Divergent Magick in all things. My job has changed, progressed but changed, and with that sacrifices of time will be made, but they will be readily given as the multitudes of prospect burn brighter through the discomfort of change. For change is the only absolute.

But other than my day job, what has ol’ Saint Death lay ahead? In short, all will meet its scythe, including this very Haunt Manual!

It was always my intention to collect, edit, design, revamp all of the Haunt Manual writings and its magickal workings into print-form.

This very chapter is the closure of the past years’ worth of writings and workings, of which I will take on the seemingly insurmountable task of refining and designing the first volume in book form. This is the overarching project of the months that lay ahead, and with that, Haunt Manual will undergo a metamorphosis into a vast array of tethered, but disparate, writings that may or may not consist of these autobiographical magicks. Rather, I hope to continue Haunt Manual’s new chapter into that of a fervent journalistic jaunt within interests and ideas not necessarily so tied to the Hauntomancy magicks. Stay tuned for some fun ponder wanders of outsider arts and ideas!

Another grave project for The Prospectre of this year and beyond is one of community. It’s a re-examination of We The Hallowed’s ethos, and a re-exaltation of its tethers, and I believe The Divergent Magick Grimoire is the key to this aspect.

The Discordant Common Chord

Performing at the Waypost, for the first time in over 5 years last January, was a synchronous reminder of the need for corporeal community — a community that helped fill the venue every month in 2016-2017 to congregate with a backdrop of our We The Hallowed Salon’s variety show. I am reminded how wide-eyed, over confident and silly I was host and interviewer of local occult figures — not yet sullied by the years of redundant exposure to the elitists and digital cardinals of occulture. Sure, the pandemic and multiple moves across country didn’t help the local community building, and for a time, the involvement of international collaborators and WtH Haunts felt magnanimous within the digital aether — but WtH’s ethos of anarchic magickal creatives and ramshackle collaborations prove best when tethering instead of nesting. The salons were a tether, the zine was a tether, the audio sigils tethers too, but nothing as consistent and exciting as the salons.

THE DIVERGENT MAGICK ANARCHIC GRIMOIRE

The Prospectre Ritual resonated within a field of social connectivity; the growth and the resilience needed to haunt this ethos of sharing and bolstering anarchic magickal means needed refining. So, the Prospectre barked on and on about reinforcing and refining these tethers, these constants, that was part collective work, part individualistic discovery, and wholly neither, either, or, but all-together—a thirdscene of contradiction communion. Naturally, it appeared as a former text—a hitherto forgotten intention as an abandoned project—now revitalized and made wholly new: The Divergent Magick Anarchic Grimoire.

Dissolving the internal dissonance I’ve felt with We The Hallowed as a magickal apparatus of late, echoing its ethos of anarchic revelries of shared metaphysical creations, and finally, resounding in the thirdscene of both made new—allowed me to construct this anarchic grimoire, this workbook, this rubric for user-created ritual construction.

The Grimoire is simple. The book gives space for the aspects of a rite, it gives space for the ruminations and visitations of a rite’s attempts, space to catalogue a personal sigil alphabet, and, most importantly, it introduces and gives space to the “Disolver Eco Resonar” method to assist in ritual ruination, reconstruction and rebirth of all of the above. This very chapter of the Haunt Manual was guided by this D E R method—as the Spectre of 2017 dissolves, the Aspectre of a thought lost self echoes, and the resonance of these workings haunt on through the Prospectre of self and future works…

My aims of this Grimoire are threefold:
1) To hone and construct my own ritual processes within an organized schema
2) To have this become the backbone for a resurgence in community driven magicks and
3) To deconstruct & rebirth new schema for updated volumes.

My hope is that the Divergent Magick Anarchic Grimoire is not only found useful for neuro-divergent and neuro-typical minds alike, but also inspires a community of sharing these anarchic recipes for life in the form of their custom rituals. Perhaps this tome can become the tool to discover the constants, to discover the inherent. Perhaps this is vessel for the intentionally customizable scripture of this self-styled art-religon’s “Tethers?” We shall see.

Rebirthing the magickal moniker of Revelator Rosz (or the modern use with truncated Revelator title to relish in the misuse and ironic literalism of such a title) was not only a nod to the Spectre’s 2017 Eclipse working and the Aspectre’s merriment of experimental praxis, but a genuine reclamation of an old ghost within a new atmosphere. Revel stirringly squabbles with Dakota Slim, taking the wheel and admonishing the old dog’s fraught past.

He was conjured to emanate a supra-spectre of self — one that finds humor in his inherent contradiction and basks in the existential drudgery — a grown-up version of my “imaginary friend,” Abra Santa — a vector of an unnaturally composed and confident me, albeit mischievous. He’s able to commune with the past in aloof introspection, the present with punchy go-get-em’s, and the future with a wide-eyed wit. He’s the Prospect of my self-spectre. He’s my Prospectre.

All this to say, Revel Rosz is afforded his gusto — allowed to drive the wides while I navigate the narrows. And the narrows always come rough, and twenty twenty three, albeit largely productive, had its fair share of missives and missteps. The past few months found myself sauntering within the harsh inevitables, bracing for impact amidst revelatory gusts — the harshness of my past still lurks, and my confusion about where the inherent compulsion to create couples an inherent guilt for misguided ventures of my youth. All under an omnipresent absolute of indifferent absolution. Yet, I persist. I’d do better this next year invoking Revel’s attitude within the harsh realms of somatic life — and sometimes I do.

The Prospectre Ritual continues to resound, continues to haunt within the abstract and the inherent, but learning how to transpose it to daily woes could call for a rite of its own.

Be sure to exalt the Prospectre with We The Hallowed Haunts and guests including Eric J. Millar, Dr. Vanessa Sinclair, Carl Abrahamsson, Bob Ra and Agents of Listening Post Alpha, Saroth The Mage, Douglast Batchelor (What Magic Is This?), Thad McKracken (disinfo.com), Sam Shadow, Elena (SorcerersHomie) and more at our third annual HAUNTQUINOX on 3/18 at 11AM PT:

So here’s to exaltation of Mother Death, rogue saint of prosperous change, in the aeon of neither-either-or!
