This transmission was a nightmare to cobble together—not because of any of the subject matter directly (although I’m sure the combined eclipse resonances discussed carry some blame), and not because of any prodcuction issues in creating its segments—but because of the tundra of confluences (beyond just the eclipses) and the heavy somatick staticks abound bore a sore stasis. It was tethered together on the nape of a new head’s growth, and it may be discernable through the ramshackle technomantik issues apparent in the final draft.

Amidst sacrificing a 5-year hard-won atmosphere into boxes and trunks fit for bigger and brighter while punching the malkuthian timeenergy captital-suckage of a tireless work/life balance is reason enough for the silence as of late, but I couldn’t simply arrange this bric-a-brac episode together without some form of mercurian grump-glitch throwing a bone at every plan laid. Using everything else outside my usual tools and talismans proved quite the feat, but this is but the growing pains of the headless. Still a wild body be-bopping and jigging in arrhythmic meter while the new head grows—no mouth to tooth a scream but a whole lotta leg to run ragged even still. And we got here, didn’t we?

I was reticent to widely share this hauntomantik videomancy cut-up…

…largely because it makes a coming transformation manifest, and somewhat allows dark-maneuvered looky-loo’s my coming whereabouts. But, fuck it, dude, life’s a risk. A debauched meditation on death and delinquency that fuses noir, punk/gang culture, and the surrealist drug novel into a caution-nary tale of toxic co-dependence and blurred principle. A mysterious sentient energy lowly reincarnated as red tide—the harmful algal bloom sharing its red phosphorous with methamphetamine—returns to the scenes of its coming-of-age atrocities, narrating this punk rock shadowing of The Secret History and Lord of the Flies from the vantage of its ominous panoramic ocean. ABOUT DIMtZUM:

The creation and whirlwind magicks utilized to conjure a surprise and powerful record, whilst in the midst of piecing outing my song sigil series, is a fantastick example of the hauntsigil, personally, but hypersigil, commonly, in turn.

My Hauntomancy within DIMtZUM is best exemplified by the communion of the Spectre of my youth—one doused in the desert heat and cradled within the fuzz gospel of bands such as The Melvins, Unwound, Fugazi—and one that I have always cherished, yet, never knew how to conjure those deep influences until this project arose. The Aspectre was also danced with, as I found myself white-eyed and ravenous to experiment with my own talismanic instruments in ways hitherto unknown, inspired by the cosmick rhythms of Frater Perseus somatickally performed in his own magickal artspace called The Mauve Room, and allowed me to tether his conjurations from my Dimming Room: A rather analog & somatick affair considering we were transcontinental in collaboration, but one that kept the dirty ghost within a baritone fuzz gospel based upon performance rather than post-production.

Without disrespectfully constituting Frater Perseus’ own utilization of Hauntomancy within this sigil, or discussing his own praxis without his explicit description, I will say a marked element of Hauntomancy I noticed with Perseus’ construction of the DIMtZUM rhythms was that of letting go of long charged and utilized syncopations. He almost retired these long toiled with rhythms to haunt on within these DIMtZUM

The first SONGSIGIL in the REVEL ROSZ monthly series that builds to his first fully produced debut album. The songsigil is to be widereleased on bandcamp and all streaming platforms July 2024. It was imperative that the first of the series be revealed today, 7/7/24 due to celestial elections. The video was made in The Dimming Room and shot on analog film Hi8 camcorders along with my rusty sony DSLR. The glitch effects are all completely analog as one of the camcorders has a malfunctioning output - but I love the natural analog decay. Utilizing this along with in-camera lo-fi projection mapping is perfectly analogous to the song's production, as everything was performed and recorded somatically - no digital samples, sequencing or digital FX.

Recorded with live drums and live manipulated analog FX, four track & cassette player manipulation, baritone electric guitar, casio circuit bent keyboard, 70's analog rhythm box and the live manipulated Robert Monroe tape samples!

After years of working with Eric Millar and his We The Hallowed Press bouts of independent publishing, I decided I would take a stab at creating custom, blank journals—largely for myself and my endless need of scribble books. I designed a blank journal with PragMagick’s Austin Osman Spare Planchette insignia, only the image on the cover, but needed to publish it to the public to get my discounted author copies, so I pummeled through the annoying minutiae of listing it for sale to a general audience. I knew how niche and specific these designs were, and had no expectation about them selling. The simple praxis of self-publishing these wholly custom journals got me itchy about all the publishing projects from the early We The Hallowed era. Hell, even Revelator Rosz, my rebirthed moniker reinvigorated by the Prospectre Ritual, is still listed as an author to the first ever We The Hallowed zine.

Dissolving the internal dissonance I’ve felt with We The Hallowed as a magickal apparatus of late, echoing its ethos of anarchic revelries of shared metaphysical creations, and finally, resounding in the thirdscene of both made new—allowed me to construct this anarchic grimoire, this workbook, this rubric for user-created ritual construction.

It is rare that this analog/digital daemon dips into the software pool of occult tools, but this one is as simple and as extraordinarily useful without impeding many processes that are often sacrificed in technological magicks by their lonesome. The Green Mushroom Project is teaming up with the We the Hallowed occult art and media magick collective WE THE HALLOWED to bring you “Fuck Around and Find Out 2: Audio Offerings of Magical Sovereignty from The Green Mushroom Project and We the Hallowed”- our first ever digital mixtape, coming this Fall!

We are now looking for submissions!

This will be a non-profit labor of love, with the goal of providing a collection of audio offerings which have been organized according to aesthetic and made available for free digital download.

What can I submit?

Anything that can be a HQ playable digital audio file (WAV). This includes: music, song, spoken word, audio rituals, etc. There is no specific theme other than that it should relate to The Green Mushroom Project and/or magical stuff you fuck around with.

Entry guidelines:

Entries must purvey your personal creative/magical praxis. Obviously, this could mean various things! However, it must be audible and include modulation of some type (no John Cage silences or unending one-tones).

Five min. 23 sec. time limit. Please submit tracks which are 00:05:23 or shorter in length.

All entries must include:

A title

A description of the work (is it a song, a sigil, automatic writing read aloud?)

The name that you would like to be credited with

My closing audiomantic ritual (“Dim Session”) for the soon-to-be-released Haunt Manual chapter (and conclusion of “Sine Wave Serpents”) was performed this week. The mechanics of instrumentation (talismans) utilized for the improvised set, like all prior, are deeply intentional and correlate to the hauntological workings professed in the chapter’s innards. This is why all ritual scores for the Haunt Manual audio chapters have been so radically different. This one utilizes lo-fi cassette manipulation, an old casio keyboard and a live-programmed drum machine to match the human error integration with automaton spits and spurts of my own overarching developments.

This recent musical experiment reminded me of the want to create a channeled lo-fi electronic and film-score-centric project entitled ECTOGASM (I reserved the name and its bandcamp years ago- which further proves the hauntomancy made manifest by bridging synapses long forgotten!) I also have been inspired to utilize these Dim Sessions to conjure audiomantic records by turning these improvised sets into the muscular skeletons of formal albums, but more on that later…

I am haunted.

I find myself in a static stasis, reverberating in place. Like the Tower Card, it’s as if I’m always exploding foundations and rebuilding in a constant loop. I often compare myself to the Dharma Bum, a beat-ific idea of anarchic freedom, snickering at the rubble and ash beneath, never tied to what came before. But the thing is, I am haunted. I am haunted by extremes – whether it‘s being an aloof instigator of a creative community, or a dogma-less routine-driven magician. I have never given proper communion to this ghost, this tether to all things pragmatic and artistic, this innate contradiction within all that I do.

I would balk and run from memory, and find myself arrested as to where and how to move forward with nothing truly gained. In hindsight, it’s an old tale about doomed repetition. But I know this ghost simply yearns to be both, or something different altogether. How do I commune with this specter of self? How do I find the “third mind” of energetic revelation between the opposites I find myself forever wrestling. How do I, as a spontaneous creative, become a stable magician? Is it possible?

The past few months I caught a whiff of being in front of the oncoming Tower. I can see the revolutions of self before me, whether it be behaviors and actions, or environmental interactions. Where will I be next year? Will anything be resolved? Will I continue to churn and burn through habitual sabotage and struggle? Perhaps it is time to finally consort the elements that birthed my contradictory ghost.

“When I began this project, these internal walls were related to issues surrounding: A) A desire to be heard, seen, and understood but feeling blocked by fear and shame B) The need for connection to and expression of sexuality and sexual identity C) Philosophical questions about the existence and nature of “self” or “selves” and where this “quantity” might be “located”

And with that, Luxa Strata embarked on a brave audiomantic work, GRATUS ANIMUS. GRATUS straddles that liminal space between trauma and elation, existing in sonic reverie as a journalistic testament to understanding both.

Since I’ve been privy to Luxa’s wonderful podcast, Lux Occult, she has been a beacon to the anarchic magicks I hold so dear. Whether it’s her incredible podcast or her work with the Green Mushroom Project, Luxa has become an invaluable voice to those looking to get strange and stranger still. I can’t quantify, in words, the amount of respect I have for her commitment to dive deep with a smirk, to cast a creative wide birth, and to usher a communal space for those of us in the throes of the lurch.

Today’s guest I know quite well and have followed his career, well, his entire life. Kamen Ross is a fellow trickster, licking his lips to the wild fancies of brilliant artistic expressions. From his seminal work in the band Sexy Coyote, to his recent frenetic piano record entitled, Kamen, Ross is truly a musician that rips through theoreticals and dips well into the raditudes. 4 years ago, under the total eclipse of August 2017, I conducted a major anarchic magickal working. As the earth took a big gulp, and the hum of the world silenced for a moment, I danced, howled and babbled intentions into the moon's shadow. 4 years later, here we are, under a rare blue moon, and I am seeing the culmination of that magickal working complete a circle.

You see, after the ritual ignited The Tower, I began to rebuild pursuits that have been long gestating ever since. It was my intention to further my education through use of a podcast platform (PRAGMAGICK), to help usher a community of anarchic artists (We The Hallowed) and continue to experiment with transdimensional artistic practices (Dakota Slim, Zozobra). 4 years later, as I configure my new working amongst my altar in my new home, under the totality of a full blue moon at 5am, I can't help but feel DETRIT∴US is that perfect circle, that perfect egregore of all that came before.

it is time for a more inclusive, ramshackle and brilliantly authentic compilation for the second WtH AUDIO SIGIL. It shall remain anarchic as this medium is the message. Therefore, overarching prompt for submissions for our second AUDIO SIGIL is personifying one’s metaphysical praxis into an aural assault, individually.

That was my simple prompt for submissions over a year ago. A year of universal conflict, personal setbacks and drastic changes, a year amongst this world forever changed by you-know-what. But it wasn't the setbacks, or the state hopping that kept me from releasing this sooner. It was the idea that I would create a sub-album, a collection of tethers, a sonic sinew to tie the entire sigil together. Of course creating original compositions, inspired by other artists submissions, or inspired by my personal praxis alone, is what has kept this burning in the forefront of my mind for all this time. But as I said in the prompt, this was all about unifying anarchic magicks into a talisman, and that we did.

That was a quote by Victor Frankl, one I hold dear and one that coincidentally appears in guest Anthony Tyler‘s self-sorcery text, Dive Manual. Dive Manual uses the framing of deep sea exploring to compare theology, esotericism, psychedelia, psychology and philosophy into a heavy tome, but wam-bam-thank-you-mam primer for those that have an itch, inkling and need to begin their journey inward. About “BARDOS”

The 9 song conceptual record features solemn acoustic hymnals to bombastic experimental arrangements conjured and curated by my audiomancy experiments.

This E.P. is inspired by my longform fiction novel Zozobra that I’ve been toiling with for years and would love to share the narrative, through sound, as it lays now. The story follows the character of Dakota Slim after his death in the late 1800s through the different Bardos of the afterlife. It was always meant to be a book AND an album, thus each track represents a chapter of the book which in turn, includes the 6 Bardos Thodol from the Tibetan Book Of The Dead:

After a deluge of media setbacks it is my esteemed pleasure to finally premiere my wonderful chat with the incredible Katelan Foisy and Dr. Vanessa Sinclair! We trans-dimensionally wayfare through the glitches and tussles of the metaphysical Cut-Up. Brion Gysin and William S. Burroughs’ pioneering form of artistic witchcraft have inspired many an artwitch, so much so that the cut-up seems to be the final frontier of art – a destination amidst the en sof where all creativity pummels into eachother. This chat was inspiring to say the least as we weave through Katelan and Vanessa’s brilliant interpretations of the craft, coined as glitchcraft by Katelan, and discuss the powerful mental health and healing properties of reckless creation. Its wonderful to discuss things like nostalgiamancy and cutups as a form of time travel, or as Burroughs said, “It is a matter of the future and the past being laid out, so that you can see both the future and the past from the present.”

Katelan Foisy is a wonderful media mage, illustrator, writer, and tarot diviner. She has worked with the Smashing Pumpkins recently, creating the artwork for William Patrick Corgan’s tours by correlating the Fool’s Journey within his own nostalgiamancy.

Dr. Vanessa Sinclair is friend of the show and half of the jet-setting occultural couple with husband Carl Abrahamsson. She is a psychologist, a podcaster of the Rendering Unconscious cast, published author and so, so much more.

Together they create a symphony of cutup cultures via their CHAOS OF THE THIRD MIND project.

Hey creeps, hope you had some hairy horrordays and are ready for the funk of 2020 to roll off your shoulder as much as I am. It is fitting, nay SUITING, that I end the year with such a magnanimous discussion with someone I hold in very high esteem (although he would hate said esteem I’m sure!) – Phil Hine, author and journalist of many different metaphysical trajectories – from chaos magick to tantra, to yogies and yoga, to elusive and archaic whimsy’s illustrated on his brilliant enfolding.org – he is a prolific journalist of thought – Hine has a unique perspective more than most in that he doesn’t feel he is authoritative on many subjects. I beg to differ in just a small way – he is authoritative to now, to not be pegged and labeled by his past dalliances, but screams growth through his continual need to document and toil with his own stasis as mage and writer. This means much to me.

I told him, not unlike a musician who has put out many records over the years, or any prolific artist for that matter, it was my duty to not hound him with works so far removed from his current, well, currents. I knew he had tired of all the chaos magick gusto sprung upon him from a popular work close to 30 years old now. I am talking of Condensed Chaos of course. But let me not dissuade you from thinking this is a chaos-less convo. Hine is stunning in his ability to saunter and weave his own growth with his past works, but as his 2020 collection, Hine’s Varieties, states in the title – he is a collection of brilliant and nominal experiences within many currents of magick and artistry.

Phil Hine is NOT the chaos magick guy, he is first and foremost a practitioner journalist ready and able to be humbled by his past decrees, and builds a sturdy humanism within the magistrate that is his body of work. A perennial student, humor laden, incorrigibly witty and personable, Phil Hine is the EXACT luminary I needed to hear from at this point in my life. One riddled with a severe self-reflection that is both transcendent and raw, and one that doesn’t take himself too damn seriously.

We were weavers of thoughts during our conversation; topics woven like threads through a bright discourse. I’m not one to over edit these pragmagick conversations, I worry I would devalue the experience that was shared. This is part and parcel. We cover so much, and I’m keeping the spirit of that congress of discourse alive by allowing the ebbs and flows.

We chat about so damn much; from the chaos magick ethos vs. the 70’s and 80’s punk ethos, the psychic soothing of self from a pragmatic, therapeutic standpoint, adversely, the bullshit of being too pragmatic with woo, too! We discuss mentors, gurus, and finding the others as friends first, not authorities. The death of the machismo through a fluid concept of sexuality and not their inherent confines. Tantra and its necessity for a traditionalism in praxis and his wonderful workings within such a praxis.

On tonight’s program I am honored to be chatting with the fulltime Irish Rogue, sometime Cultural Soothsayer Mr. Thomas Sheridan. Sheridan is a prolific writer and lecturer on everything from psycopathy to Occultism – and I would consider him to be a true scholar of the likes of H.P. Lovecraft and modern occultism.

When I book these #liminalstream chats its my aim to flourish within a topic of discourse whether it be personal fluency within the comic book and occult worlds with last week’s guest Eric Millar, or tonight’s discussion on the affluence of occult tropes within modern cinema. I have been in a deep ponderance with what the cultural implications could be when it comes to modern occult tropes in cinema. And who better to chat with about these ponderings than Mr. SHERIDAN, who’s occult symbolism look into Ari Aster’s Hereditary via his Beyond Room 313 YouTube channel had me reeling for more. Hopefully, tonight we can weave and burrow through the trope, unveil some generally luminous concepts and throw away misguided interpretations of occultnik principles common in cinema.

Sheridan had tied hereditary into the Hindu idea of the Kaliyuga and if 2020 has meant anything, its meant the burning down of what was – that is, before the ash reassembles into what will be.

On today’s show I’m lucky to present my conversation with Occulture author, documentarian, and cut-up conductor Carl Abrahamsson. Listeners might recall Carl being half of the international, jet-setting, transdimensional wayfaring duo that is TRAPART, a metaphysical media enterprise fronted by him and recent Pragmagick guest, Vanessa Sinclair. Carl has been an ever so prominent fixture in both my artistic and magical whims, having been a frequent collaborator with the likes of the late Genesis P. Orridge, Ken Anger and the enigmatic Anton La Vey. Anton is the subject of Carl’s recent documentary, INTO THE DEVIL’S DEN; a wonderful and deeply personal look at the often misunderstood and infamous occult figure. It is deeply synchronous that our chat was recorded one week before Genesis P-Orridge’s passing. They actually just released LOYALTY DOES NOT END WITH DEATH – a transdimensional and decades long audiomantic escapade. As such, I’ve included a personal tribute as well as a poem from Carl at the show’s end. P-Orridge was an absolutely influential figure to me concerning occult philosophy and art. Carl’s oeuvre, his body of work, and his inspirational intent is decades long, fervent and prolific. Thomas has been in the peripheral of my occult and magickal leanings for quite some time. I’ve enjoyed his YouTube channels and lectures on everything from Santa Muerte to the machinations of being a modern Druid. But there’s a few things that kept gnawing for a discussion with him such as the psychological and philosophical ramifications of HEXing, or cursing. As budding magicians, I believe we all temper the scales of smiting thy enemies and naysayers. But through this ethereal journey I find it more and more impractical and absolutely damning to even calibrate the psychology of trying to affect someone else’s will negatively. Thomas, of course, has some thoughts… We also dive deep into analog circuitbending and audiomancy – constructing “alien instruments” to create sounds that aid in transdimensional wayfaring. Though, it was our discussion about mental health and him clarifying his stances that I find true worth in this discussion. It was good to hear the subject through the eyes of someone who has suffered because of it, but not through it personally. This episode contains a thorough update about me and mine, as well as my cathartic chat with Mr. Grimsteak. I’ve always been honest about my bouts with mental health or the sullied struggles with the material realm. Not unlike my cathartic Depression podcast with friends and fellow seekers, Eric Millar & Alexx Bollen, I needed to vex the hex with friend and podcaster, Grimsteak, of the raucous good time, Cruzin’ with Steak. Initially we had chatted about doing an addiction specific episode, to really dig into the nitty gritty of our rough pasts. But you know what? We need hope too, and hope is abound. We needed to chat about our intentions, wants and beauty that currently surrounds us. From Jerry Cthulhu’s medical scare and the magical community supporting his amazing comeback, to our brilliant relationships and magick’s aid in fortifying them, or occulture’s guru culture – we get real, we get hopeful and we find our magick through the rough and tumble. Don’t get me wrong, we also criticize it, and I think that’s healthy. The more I know about any of this shit, the less I know. And I’m excited to know less and less. On today’s show I’m lucky to present my conversation with Occulture author, documentarian, and cut-up conductor Carl Abrahamsson. Listeners might recall Carl being half of the international, jet-setting, transdimensional wayfaring duo that is TRAPART, a metaphysical media enterprise fronted by him and recent Pragmagick guest, Vanessa Sinclair. Carl has been an ever so prominent fixture in both my artistic and magical whims, having been a frequent collaborator with the likes of Genesis P. Orridge, Ken Anger and the enigmatic Anton La Vey. Our talk couldn’t have come at a better time, as I myself have been struggling to assess the current state of Occulture, or what, if any, my place in this whole charade might be – and Carl literally wrote the book on it! His oeuvre, his body of work, and his inspirational intent is decades long, fervent and prolific. If there was ever an episode to address and court the need for a multifaceted creative life parallel to one’s wayward path as a seeker…it’s this one. The Following is an excerpt from the foreword, “Unbind: Faith In Doubt”, I composed for Derek Hunter’s LOVE CHAOS IN THEORY & PRACTICE, now available via AMAZON.

“…Love Chaos, in its first iteration as an artistic, if not elusive, self-published book came into my purview during the early days of my podcasting. I started the podcast, PRAGMAGICK, as a means to glean and document practices that inspire or enhance the creative process of life – attempting to mine revelations, to discern the powers within and without– the furies that somehow lifted me from that desert soil so many years ago. This is where Derek Hunter arrived, discussing Love Chaos on the Occult of Personality podcast.

Never before had I heard a practitioner, a magick-minded artist, back up the constructs of their philosophies with such a selfless purpose. These occultists tend to be quite dour about the outer. Derek is not.

Love Chaos was a “guiding principle & philosophy” that he was inspired to construct from experiences within his own struggles as well as his hallowed work with the Amity Foundation. He actively guides, rehabilitating the once crooked. He won’t ever admit that. Humble, humbled and all too ready to lift others.

These were the credentials of a good man. These were the merits of a phoenix. Derek is a blueprint of retribution in his own right, via his own rites.

Derek’s self-rehabilitation, creation of incorruptible constants and elastic absolutes shine as a foundry of might. Derek kicked against the prids like all of us, he fell like most of us, but he turned like few us, and he helps like none of us.

Within this text, Derek weaves his phoenix folklore with an astute and approachable grasp on psychology, art and magick with proof-in-the-pudding anecdotes only a survivor can sew. It’s an unpretentious and palatable prose.

From survivor, to forgiver, practitioner and sage, Derek is someone I hold in the highest regard and I have a sort of future-regret for not being allowed this text those many years ago, during my own phoenix folklore’s inception. Yet, the phoenix is made to rise and burn again, and this is a gift to those in that liminal cinder. To those forever in that liminal cinder, like me…

…The guiding principle of LOVE CHAOS is not a manual, it’s not a manifesto – it’s a travelogue for inner alchemy. For creating your own mythology, your own folklore. For forgiveness.”

This episode, we leave the woowoo for the weird, well, the wonderful of what could be considered an “outsider artist” – by which I mean, someone who has created and conjured wonderful works of art far outside the confines of scenes, streams or currents.

Allow me to gush for a moment – I have been a fan of John Schmersal’s for the better part of my life. Whether it was his angular guitar shapes in his early band, Brainiac, or his approach to songwriting and production in his later groups like John Stuart Mill, Enon, Vertical Scrathcers and Crooks on Tape – John is a paragon, a conduit of crooked clamor and mutant melody and I hold him in the highest regard as a creator.

That aside, it was nice to get the scoops on how his littler known masterpieces were created – the ones like his masonic temple recorded solo project, John Stuart Mill, or the midwifing of his frontmanship with Enon’s “Believo”- both records were birthed simultaneously in the wake of the tragic death of Brainiac’s brilliant, Swashbuckler front man, Tim Taylor, and both are major touchstones for my own sonic experimentation and “outsider music” since high-school. Hell, I even named my high-school band “Believo” in tribute to his work.

There’s a new Brainiac documentary making the festival rounds that answers the long gestating questions about the Brainiac folklore that warrants a hunt and a watch. This documentary seems to have already resurrected the fun and fervor of the Brainiac legend with rare reunion shows and renown fans like Fred Armisen, Buzz Osborne & Steve Albini lending accolades. I feel proud that they are getting some long deserved shine.

Though, past is simply prologue to John and his prolific career post Brainiac and even Enon, as John has created some of the most inventive, incendiary music since. He’s created the irreverent rock of the Vertical Scratchers, the improvisational Enon torchbearers that are Crooks on Tape, he tours with the wonderful Caribou, produces records and gave this longtime fan over three hours of his wonderful time to chat about all of the above. This podcast is and always has been about the creation of your own folklore, of your own mythology, and I couldn’t ask for a better example than the DISRUPTION GENERATOR.

This will be somewhat of an unboxing and an exit interview for a project I care very deeply about. You see, Eric J. Millar created a bibliomantic oracle, The Disruption Generator, birthed with the help of our art collective WE THE HALLOWED. Monday through Friday, for months, he would use a random word generator to illustrate and devise a succinctly poetic meaning for that very word. He would then post those illustrations, all 120 of them, via WeTheHallowed.org

I am proud to have helped midwife this stunning project, if only just a little, and it means so much to me how absolutely synchronous this custom “tarot” has become. And guess what? I use it every fucking day, to magnanimous results.

You’ve probably noticed my thematic episode art? Those are DG components, divined to illustrate each interview I’ve had since it’s publication. But more than just being able to use his brilliant illustrations, I’ve applied the arcana in my daily life. Whether it’s a traditional 3 card reading as you would with tarot, or to cut myself out of a writing hole whilst working on my book, the DG has been absurdly relevant in the most metaphysical sense of the word. And it would be for you, too. How could it not?

The project started with a question:

What can true randomness do once installed into the divination thought form?

The results are in, and they’re brilliant. So far, the books, both hardcover and a portable paperback, have been a source of unmitigated inspiration to learned occultists and freewheelin’ mages alike. It’s free of academia, it’s free of overthink, it’s free. My conversation with Lacanian psychologist and psychoanalyst Dr. Vanessa Sinclair couldn’t have come at a better time (alas, that’s usually how these interviews work!) You see, this podcast has been my personal grimoire as well as my continuing education of sorts– gleaning from luminaries such as Dr. Sinclair whilst applying and practicing the wisdom revealed within our conversations. But I’ve recently hit a stand still, in all my exploration of the self and in all my “subconscious spelunking” as of late, I have yet to dive deep into the world of professional psychoanalysis. And who better to discuss the merits, discern the throes and appeal to the wonder of the psychoanalytic practice than an artist and practitioner such as Dr. Sinclair?

The last thing I want to do is treat the following topics with too much levity or too much seriousness – finding that gentle medium can be a bit sloppy sometimes, but I felt it best to mention that this episode contains a candid and frank discussion between three artists about their disparate struggles with mental health. The topics are namely depression and bouts with self harm and suicidal ideation/attempts. We can come across as unfittingly jovial at times, but that’s just our way of pushing through the heaviness. I just made that word up to describe illustrator and author Eric J. Millar‘s process. Why? Because I like to label things, I suppose. I doubt he would ever put too much pizazz and thought into categorizing his process, as Eric is somewhat adept in the purest form of creation: an intent-less intent so-to-speak; to use an automatic and subconscious exorcism for creation. And I find that romantic. Thus, Automantic… don’t sue me if this term doesn’t stick.

Eric is a colleague and fellow haunt in our Metaphysical Art Collective WE THE HALLOWED, and I couldn’t be more excited to make such fast friends with a talent I revere as much as his. As a matter of fact, Eric is not only a prolific illustrator and artist of 23 books under his publishing sect, Outlet Press, he is also in the process of creating a custom arcana, a custom divinatory system called the DISRUPTION GENERATOR which he says has “no scholarship on it yet, it’s just pure symbolism for whatever it’ll mean to you” and that’s truly an “Automantic” manifestation. See what I did there?

Eric gives the first-ever DISRUPTION GENERATOR reading for someone else: Me. As I camped in the Oregon wilderness preparing to perform a magnanimous magickal ritual during the totality of the 2017 Solar Eclipse, I had been intellectually snacking on Mitch Horowitz‘s Occult America. And under that 2017 total eclipse I would go on to perform a ritual that would prove to be my personal metaphysical resurgence from teetering woo-woo chrysalis to full blown weirdo–midwifing my current metaphysical trajectory that lead to this very podcast. I had chosen to identify as Revel Rosz, a pseudonym meant to conjure confidence in sharing my metaphysical musings.

It’s only fitting, then, that under this recent total lunar eclipse, under a Super Wolf Blood Moon–all but two years later– I retired the pseudonym Revel Rosz. I’ve accepted to tether all my art and creativity under my name of Keats Ross, unafraid about the professionalism of my woo-woo wiles. And the person that helped solidify this decision was none other than Mitch Horowitz himself via this following discussion about his most recent book, The Miracle Club, and the importance of transparency within the spiritual arena.

I feel every episode I grow closer to defining PRAGMAGICK as a philosophy–an aim to document and/or apply metaphysical concepts as a means to alter and progress our shared somatic reality via personal transformation or creative expression. But I’m finding that simply means gleaning and learning from the personal folklore specific to each guest. So, my initial idea maybe simple in my head, but becomes lost in that wordy definition…

That’s when it becomes even simpler: To Document The Folklores Specific to My Favorite Artists and Thinkers. Right? Close, and in any case, simplification is surely something I could learn from DEREK HUNTER and his philosophy of LOVE CHAOS.

You see, the only consistency I’ve found in this PRAGMAGICK “mystery school” or personal “audio grimoire“–the only TETHER that is so glaringly obvious within each guest, and with me personally, is the drive to cultivate or create a personal folklore that helps.

Our unique mythologies are our means of communicating how we see the world, creator or not, and no matter our disparate artistic paths, we all share the want to accentuate this shared reality with our personal narratives. It’s more so than just the “What does it all mean?” quandary, it’s more pragmatically driven, it’s “Where do you need me?” and “What can I do to help?” –because we care to utilize these personal narratives, not just understand them.

And with that, Derek Hunter is something of an anomaly, he not only fervently creates works of fiction and sound art, but he also applies his unique folklore in exceedingly humanitarian ways–something seldom found within this wholly self-centered realm of the metaphysical arts.

“HAUNT” – the 18th card in Eric Millar’s ongoing Disruption Generator card series. A W†H specific “tarot” dispatched from a word generator that is then illustrated & posted, daily, by Eric. This one, “Haunt,” is especially divinatory: if there was one word I’d consider to be the most powerful, the most enigmatic and important to describe WE THE HALLOWED, it would most certainly be “HAUNT.” Mainly because the members of this art collective are referred to as HAUNTS (Haunters if you’re into that whole brevity thing) as they encapsulate our biggest TETHER (or philosophical tenet)– the major idea that unifies all of us incredibly individualistic weirdos– into a collective* of artistic seekers:

No one knows what happens when you die. Therefore, the only way to achieve immortality, for certain, is to Haunt On after we’re gone through the art and ideas we created while we were here.

The card, along with Elizabeth Kennamer expressing that I need to properly introduce WE THE HALLOWED (along with myself) on our podcast, PRAGMAGICK, were the unsubtle synchronicities that converged into the universe poking and prodding me into reassessing and introducing what WE THE HALLOWED is, was and intends to be.

I’m finding that there’s confusion as to what or who or what woo we do here, exactly, as WE THE HALLOWED. This is understandable, as I, W†H’s self-ordained Revelator, am unable to reveal the psychic machinations that are now afoot as We The Hallowed becomes an “egregore”–a living thoughtform with it’s own laws and mechanics. But I can illuminate a near-sighted trajectory via our present and past projects as a means to soothsee upcoming ones.

“Achievement Unlocked” –

This is what I’ve been saying to friends and peers within the Occult community about my interview with Tommie Kelly. Cheekiness aside- I’ve admired Tommie’s Podcast (RSS) and his Blog, Adventures In WooWoo, for quite some time. Recently, his custom arcana THE FORTY SERVANTS, have been bopping their beautifully illustrated heads throughout my mystical studies revealing themselves as a modern achievement in custom magicks; a creation that has been realized for wide-application amongst modern practitioners.

Tommie and I have nearly an identical trajectory within the confluence of Art and Magick – we are both tour-weary musicians having recalibrated our creative pursuits towards writing, podcasting and creating comic books- albeit my first comic is still in progress and he’s published multiple! There’s a mutual trajectory both in our artistic journeys, but also in our metaphysical paths, too, as we both birthed our beginnings as Chaos Magicians into artistic expression. We share the need to “get-out-of-the-way” of our creative fervor by utilizing magicks within a multitude of creative mediums and stop overthinking so damn much.

Those of you who have been keeping up with PRAGMAGICK know that I’ve been wrestling with my Chaos Magick beginnings; having the “crisis of faith” (the irony is not lost on me) about Chaos Magick’s modern identity and the tenets imposed on this “ronin-like” practice by outspoken modern practitioners. But Tommie has helped refortify my own definition of Chaos Magick and it’s crafty custom pursuits.  MY Chaos Magick does illicit devotion and piety for other practices and is not just a willy-nilly disrespectful hodge-podging of sorts. But we also must not get too mucked up in the mire of Chaos Magick as a label, but more as a utility that is unique to each practitioner. I am not a chaos magician; I am a writer, music, an and podcaster who utilizes the “reality tunnel of chaos magick” to communicate my art – to use a Tommie (by way of RAW) phrase.

I cannot tell you how eerie these synchronicities have become as of late but I’ll pause on divulging my current spiritual and magickal trajectory too much, so let me just say that discovering the missing audio from my live interview with Cicely Rogers couldn’t have come at a more appropriate moment for me and for the podcast. This interview, recorded live as part of the WE THE HALLOWED salons that occurred at the Waypost, here in PDX, were presented as part of Proto-PRAGMAGICK, WAYWARD WORSHIP last FEBRUARY.

This was one of the most enlightening convos I’ve had, and a terrible disappointment to me when I “misplaced” the audio due to my terribly inefficient (trial by fire) production management early on. However, my subconscious proved victor as it has been revealed that this “misplacement” was really just a measured and intended long-game… Now, this platform has enough stability to truly value the facets of this conversation, as well as the need* for it as there is an important magickal current that demands more representation: the diverse and varied practitioners within the POC and LGBTQ “occult” communities. Enter: SACRED LATTICE, a haven for minority seekers.

Though diverse representation is reason enough, that is only one of the numerous reasons why this this conversation is so important to me as a curator and facilitator; the viewpoints expressed here give a logician’s angle to the intuitive healing community, a trajectory that is already rife with maybe too much of the woo-woo, and psycho-babble expounded by “nü-gurus” but Cicely, as public school teacher and metaphysical educator, manages to ground her ethereal pursuits in a wonderfully self-aware resolve. Cicely, embattled with her own helping of somatic realities disturbances and biological burdens, continues to enlighten a path for the underrepresented seekers. She’s the real deal and an absolute pleasure of mine to get to know her a little more!

DISINFORMATION, especially the Richard Metzger era (who now runs DANGEROUSMINDS.NET). DISINFORMATION’s BOOK of LIES, especially, imbued in me the RockNRoll occultism my porous rebellion quenched as a young seeker. From the psychotronic magicks of PSYCHICK TV, WILLIAM S. BURROUGHS, GRANT MORRISON and ROBERT ANTON WILSON (who will be the subject of the next episode!)

Audio Sorcerer, Psychonaut and Edgelord Slayer, THAD McKRAKEN

was giving the reins to the DISINFO kingdom long before I had come around as a writing contributor and not long after the company veered heavy into the online blogging behemoth many of us magickal misfits came to peruse. For good and for bad, Thad accepts the heavy burdens of the site’s Twilight years, from inner turmoil amongst it’s contributors (not so discussed here but more on that later) to the solidification of anchoring a discordant society of ne’er-do-wells and battling the naysayers within the edgelord annals of history. “LOGOS” – the word of God, or principle of divine reason and creative order…

Revel (my nom de – whatever) is short for Revelator. Revelator was humorously bestowed on me as a slight of sorts and not of any occult or biblical reference. The name was meant to poke fun about my crooked past filled with drug fueled and drunken ego trips, and their careless revels and inebriated revelations. hence the emphasis on the literal meaning of Revel. However, I’ve spent the last five years or so pursuing the Occult and the LOGOS, so to speak, attempting to reveal the “Logos,” or metaphysical truth within my redemptive story arc. Now, it’s only fitting that my current trajectory in metaphysics is looking to rectify the sardonic aspect of my identity and create a channel to truth. To make my nickname less a sarcastic tag and more of a purpose-filled title.

Upon discovering Robert A. Powell‘s Occult Oriented Youtube channel, LOGOS OF OPHIEL, I was gifted a psychic gut punch. I have recently been taking my metaphysical studies quite seriously, recalibrating my personal magickal modes and diodes to allow for more reverence of occult traditions. Therefore, when Robert contacted me about appearing on this podcast, I was relieved to find that his reach was revelatory; dispatched and parallel to my pursuits. His Youtube videos have become a consistently unpretentious and enlightening source that is wholly uncommon among the marketing-minded Nu-Gurus abound on the video platform.

We also pontificate on the paranormal and how the supernatural sightings of his work in PATH INVESTIGATIONS informed his understanding about the Paranormal. That is, the psychic echoes and detritus we humans leave behind when we ascend from this mortal coil.
LOGOS OF OPHIEL (Occult)
I must admit, I was a little weary of the conversation’s veer into the state of modern masculinity and it’s political and philosophical affects. I do think Robert comes to some valid points. That is, concerning the lack of discipline and tradition abound in my own personal and philosophical path. And that’s really at the core of our discussion: rectifying bad magickal habits that only self-taught and irreverent punks like me accrue!

I’ve recently come to half-jokingly calling myself a “reformed” or “reforming Chaos Magician” due to the habits I’ve accrued over the years within my metaphysical and philosophical path.

I absolutely still practice a form of the individualist method and rebellion that Chaos Magick is mired in, however, as far as knowledge retention and practice is concerned there was something missing.
