Howdy haunts,
I just want to say how appreciative I am of all of you. It’s been a heavy month with numerous health issues.
However, I had put so much on 02/23/2023, creatively speaking, and hoped to have the new haunt manual audio chapter out, and/or a stream. But I woke up on a mission to create something specifically for the day so I was inspired to create an album out of a prior audiomancy session, not unlike what I had done with the ECTOGASM record, but this time under DAKOTA SLIM as the musical instrumentation and motifs fit the character and is help charging my long-form fiction ZOZOBRA to finally find a shareable draft this year.
The music may sound familiar as it was used to score the last HAUNT MANUAL “Sine Wave Serpents” episode of PRAGMAGICK, however I utilized a cut-up technique via the editing and mastering process and even recorded lo-fi drums and vocals for the shoegaze-y track “Two-Twenty-Three” as an audiomantic sigil to punch through the haze.
It is true that my last major magickal working, The ASPECTRE working (as mentioned in the last two chapters of the literary HAUNT MANUAL) is beating and barking hard and fast. I wanted to reclaim the creative abandon I had as a youth – free from overthought and riddled with ghost-punching – and I feel this album is a perfect symbol of that.
I hope you enjoy it; it is cinematic and adventurous without being too hard on the pareidolia we all share.
Needless to say, there is a patreon and/or public stream in the near future. I keep pushing it back because of anxiety and the need to saunter in my dimming room creating in the void as per the ASPECTRE ritual.
