The above video was an edited livestream dispatched from the DIMMING ROOM yesterday. It’s the first of many multi-media prospektres of Hauntomancy in practice: the communion of temporal ghosts of selves, or the OTHER, with dead tech necromancy to create in congress with. Above is the initial experiment of improvised audiomancy with a source outside the self-spektre, this time the ghost of DIMtZUM’s rhythmancer extraordinaire, Frater Perseus, who filmed his rhythmcraft within the forests of Illinois, and sent the footage to me to commune with here in Cascadia captured on VHS tape. A trans-temporal, trans-continental artistik communion, indeed!
I ended up capturing his footage, with minor tweaks, onto VHS tape for the purpose of his rhythms being projected IN ROOM, through light and sound, as a temporal performance spektre to create with.

This Dim Session is a true @hauntomancer marriage of audiomancy sound magick, temporal self communion, dead tech necromancy, and psychedelic inducing ritual craft performance. All live (aside from Frater Perseus who’s ghost appears courtesy of VHS) captured within THE DIMMING ROOM.
Definitely most ambitious hauntomantik art project yet – improvised audiomancy to the terror of a timed VHS spektre of Frater Perseus drumming for true communion across time, space, tape and the internet!
EDIT: I should say that this is in no means the resolve of this particular Dim Session, and that HQ footage was captured for further construktion and creation to be released at a later date!

This stream acted as further dead tech necromancy testing as I enacted somatic performance with the footage as well—live manipulating the feeds from the VHS player and a tube amp camera capturing the room with an analog dirty video mixer through an old Panasonic video switcher. The initial stream was unintentionally public, with a ton of troubleshooting in tow, however I edited out the large troubleshooting preamble above.
I left 15 minutes or so in the beginning of this video to show some background on getting a good live audio mix, projector calibration, VHS and camcorder analog glitch art manipulation, etc.
What emanated was a dark psychedelic opera of sorts, furthering the improvised audiomancy that surrounded DIMtZUM’s initial release, but evolving it into further magickal tethers.
