Howdy Haunts,
I apologize for being mum as of late. This week was rather difficult on all fronts due to a spine injury. I was supposed to work a 71 hour week, and make my funds for the next couple of weeks due to low work volume, yet, my body had other plans! On my way out the door to work a 3 day event out of town, the good ol’ lower spine knifing came back with a vengeance. Mary has been out of town, so I’ve been wincing and limping through a pitiful existence here – struggling to keep the existential druthers and dregs at bay.
I did, however, create a full “proto-album” using all of the Revel Rosz Album song sigils in varying stages of production, none of which are finished, as a means to fully tithe and tend to the overarching concept, composition flow, and to dissolve/eco/resonate the tulpa that is this ALBUM SIGIL.
NOTE: NOT THE ALBUM ART, JUST SOMETHING TO IDENTIFY THIS PROTOVERSION OF THE UPCOMING ALBUM.
Again, NONE OF THESE SONGS ARE FINISHED – sorry for yelling – I’m sharing this proto-album with you as a means to impart some of my process in record creation – not only is it tending to the song sigils themselves, individually, but fully enveloping myself in the sinew of the overall concept – allowing for the songs to breathe new life into one another even if they’re fully written, and experimenting with new mixing/mastering techniques. This is the beginning of the death darlings (what should stay, what should go, etc.) I would consider this audio sigil around 60 percent complete. Maybe less, maybe more, we’ll see how it pulses.
Some songs like “Many Named”, “Father Karras” & “Disappearer” are close but with quite a bit of post production and some rerecording to do. “The Dim Hum” is pretty new with a reference vocal take of me rhythmically reading some writing for Dakota Slim’s Zozobra project to get a vocal idea down.
Others need a ton of re-recording such as adding more instrumentation, and some either need to be full re-recorded or left as is. The reason for this Work In Progress Proto-Album is to meditate with it, jot notes, better lyrical ideas (most of the vocal tracks are scratch/reference to be finalized last) and to allow the tulpa/sigil to begin to emanate within/without me.
I will also be mixing in segments from past DIM SESSIONS, namely THE PROSPECTRE RITUAL, to tether these tracks.
