The first SONGSIGIL in the REVEL ROSZ monthly series that builds to his first fully produced debut album. The songsigil is to be widereleased on bandcamp and all streaming platforms July 2024. It was imperative that the first of the series be revealed today, 7/7/24 due to celestial elections. You can view the videomancy component of the sigil here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y0PJ4cnBu5w
The video was made in The Dimming Room and shot on analog film Hi8 camcorders along with my rusty sony DSLR. The glitch effects are all completely analog as one of the camcorders has a malfunctioning output – but I love the natural analog decay. Utilizing this along with in-camera lo-fi projection mapping is perfectly analogous to the song’s production, as everything was performed and recorded somatically – no digital samples, sequencing or digital FX.
Recorded with live drums and live manipulated analog FX, four track & cassette player manipulation, baritone electric guitar, casio circuit bent keyboard, 70’s analog rhythm box and the live manipulated Robert Monroe tape samples!
lyrics
Prelude: Robert Monroe on The Out Of Body Experience 1989I am the ghost that hangs around
Keter dethroned and spit me out
And the yell-hounds still tryna sniff me out
But I told you I’d be the ghost that hangs around
Can’t you hear them howlin?Them yell-hounds
Well, they’re bound to keep me foundBack from the dead
It ain’t like you read
I chewed through Sekhmet’s spaces
With a severed, bloody headAnd now these muckle black tykes
Dressed in dead’s threads
They done sic’d on me
They won’t let me be
Honey, time is of the essence
So lay with meAnd I see you weep
‘Cause I’m not around
A boy could get used to
Forlornin’, and how!Never knew how many strangers felt
I’m so deeply uncomfortable
Come dig me out
Before the hounds will out
Come on, dig me outCan’t you hear them howl?
Ooh-ra
A-hoo-raCan’t you hear me
Rappin’ at your chamber door
You say “Forever More”
No matter how
Strong enough
Look who’s ghostin; vows nowLook who’s ghosting vows now
I am post haste
And I’m many named
But I can’t relate
To a dying dayCheck my pulse now
Can you replace?
No, I had none
Still I was one
Oh, I’m comin’
Yeah, I’m comin’ homeWho’s ghostin’ who now?
I’m many named
Forever in one place
I am post haste
I am the most
To cull away
Now many namedOutro: Robert Monroe on The Out Of Body Experience 1989
