DIMtZUM is the new “DoomGaze,” or Desert Rock / Doom Rock / Shoegaze duo from drumsmith Frater Perseus and fuzz whisperer, Revelator Rosz. The project, named after Rosz’ audiomancy praxis of “dimming the tzim-tzum”, was recorded between Perseus’ Mauve Room in Illinois, where he performed and tracked his rhythm, and The Dimming Room of the Cascadian, Pacific Northwest, where Revel Rosz wrote and performed his magicks inspired by said rhythms. What churned and burned through the whirlwind process was a magnanimous entry into the occult inspired, heavier side of the magickal musickal muse.
The 6 song blitzkrieg through tribal polyrhythmic, baritone fuzz dirge with channeled lyrics and whispered declarations to the beyond also showcase the likes of Dr. Vanessa Sinclair (with an appearance from Carl Abrahamsson) who lent her words and voice to the liminal interlude, “Intertzum,” amongst Rosz performing the spiritbox as an instrument under Frater Perseus’ brilliant tonguedrum melody.
