DAKOTA SLIM “BARDOS” Now on BANDCAMP
The album that was previously only released through sought-after interest and clandestine means now lives in the digital ether on Bandcamp. It will be available on Spotify, Apple Music, and all the other torrid tabernacles of lackadaisical streaming on 3/23.
About the “BARDOS”
The E.P. features solemn acoustic hymnals to bombastic experimental arrangements conjured and curated by my audiomancy experiments.
This E.P. is inspired by my longform fiction novel Zozobra that I’ve been toiling with for years and would love to share the narrative, through sound, as it lays now. The story follows the character of Dakota Slim after his death in the late 1800s through the different Bardos of the afterlife. It was always meant to be a book AND an album, thus each track represents a chapter of the book which in turn, includes the 6 Bardos Thodol from the Tibetan Book Of The Dead:
- And Lo (Prologue)
- Yosotros (Moment Of Death)
- Knell (Bardo of Hell)
- Preta (Bardo of The Hungry Ghosts)
- Serpent (Animal Bardo)
- Legion (Human Bardo)
- Asura (Jealous God Bardo)
- WaxWaner (God Bardo)
- Asunder (Rebirth)
Derek Hunter provided a synthscape in #3
Eric J. Millar provided ambience in tracks 4, 7, 8
