FROM WITHIN

This grouping was selected at random from a communally generated master list of four hundred. It is my hope that these ten items can be used as a forecast or guide to your week ahead.  You can also use a ten sided dice to turn each weeks items into a miniature oracle. Whether you choose to take these items literally or metaphorically, it’s up to you to find how these things may help. For a more thorough overview go to Introducing Bottomless Bag and Bottomless Bag 01

DIGGING DEEPER

The item we’ll be doing a deep dive with this week is:

#14: CASSETE TAPE

It’s my hope that when people use BOTTOMLESS BAG it will show them the multidimensionality of the world around them. Everything has so many sides that could interpreted and explored. This is why CASSETE TAPE is a perfect item to explore further.

My initial reaction with this item is recording and playback. Is there something in your life that should be preserved for later scrutiny or pleasure? What do you have coming up that keeping records might be helpful with?

Next, I see CASSETE TAPE for it’s more emotional property, NOSTALGIA. The cassette tape is a nostalgic symbol for many, myself included. When I think deeply about cassette tapes I find myself reminded of mowing the lawn at my parents house while listening to my Walkman to drown out the noise. I would make my own tapes. My favorite was a tape of Blind Melon’s song No Rain over and over again for 90 minutes.

Finally, there’s what the tape itself carries. SOUND. Perhaps there’s a musicality to life that’s missing? Maybe your life has become too quiet and you need a vehicle to bring you more noise? Should you be finding some good lectures to listen to for insight? Could you be listening to too many podcasts or spending too much time listening to things when you really need some silence?

That’s definitely not all that CASSETTE TAPE might mean but it’s what comes to my mind. Finding your own dimensions to these items really is the point of this. It’s why my descriptions are so short.

The only person who can see the many and varied dimensions of the world around you is you.

Explore.

That’s all for now. Come back next week for another dig into the BOTTOMLESS BAG.
